“Application” may not be quite right, but politically correct.
We (especially I!) “Apply” / our boat for the non-existent, unofficial and wonderfully subjective title:
“Most beautiful boat in the year 2017 on the Elbe and the Baltic Sea”
(The truth: We just claim the title!)
Here the “application beauty queen picture”:

OK, the mast is missing, but with the many shine and radiance is hardly noticeable, right? As planned, hoped and struggled, we put the STORMVOGEL back into the water yesterday, with world class weather (as it is for a Beauty Queen heard!). What an exciting moment when the boat leaves the dark hall and the sun shines on the first-time completely restored luxury steamship.
We are very satisfied with the work of the shipyard and the result. Looks also at (much) light looked great! And really “all” subprojects (except for the generator tagstank) done. At 6 months shipyard only two weeks late, not bad, right?
One does not worry about the pressure, which weighs on the skipper, as he controls the again very proud STORMVOGEL out of the slipbox. Sure, the first scratch in the new paint is caused by the skipper anyway!
The only question is when!
But not now!
Putting the mast as new is the next big challenge on the same day. Feel a million lines, wire cables and cables want to be so clear that they all come in the correct position without tiredness.
Well, we’re in the water!
“Just sail” the sails, assemble a few parts, get a new sailing dress and sprayhood, clean up, put in and jam, and wait for the end of the week with a two-week test ride to the west of Ostessee Would also still play ?!
A happy Peter.
It has to be mentioned, that the TURBOLADER of the main machine has moaned again – and this time it can not have been due to lack of love as in 2015 (link including detailed description). In 2016, we duly filled it with a lot of anti-freeze, but the rust in the exhaust gas turbine has grown “rapidly”, which blocked the impeller again. I do not think this is good and I will have to discuss this with the manufacturer NANNI seriously – after all, the part is just 2 years old and costs 2,500, – €. Luckily, I am a TURBO LADER expert and was able to ship the mechanic of the shipyard accordingly. Problem detected, danger banned.
